Privacy notice

Who this applies to

If you are a senior employee, director or owner of a company we think might need our services, we may hold a small amount of information about your professional role. This notice explains what, why, and what you can do about it.

What we hold

• Your name, job title and employer
• A link to your public professional profile, usually LinkedIn
• A business email address or a professional contact route, where one is publicly available
• Our own notes on why we think your company might be relevant to us, and any correspondence between us

We do not hold, seek or want: your home address, personal phone number or personal email; any information about your health, family, finances, political opinions, religious beliefs, trade union membership, sexual orientation or ethnic origin; or anything about your life outside work.

Where we got it

From publicly available professional sources. In practice that means: your employer's own website, your public LinkedIn profile, Companies House and equivalent registries, published job advertisements, press coverage and trade publications.

We did not buy your details from a data broker or a list vendor.

Why we hold it, and our lawful basis

Our lawful basis is legitimate interests (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). Our legitimate interest is identifying organisations that may need technology consultancy and contacting the right person there to ask.

We have weighed that interest against your rights, and we have limited what we hold accordingly: professional role information only, about people in commercial decision-making positions, in a business context. If you would like to see our assessment of that balance, ask and we will send it to you.

Who we share it with

Nobody. We do not sell, rent, share or publish it. It is held on systems we control and used only by us.

How long we keep it

• If we contact you and you are not interested, or you ask us to stop: we delete your personal details promptly, and keep only the minimum record needed to make sure we do not contact you again by mistake.
• If we contact you and hear nothing: we delete your details within 12 months of the last contact.
• If we decide not to pursue your company: we delete your details within 6 months of that decision.
• Information about the company — its size, sector, technology and public filings — is business information rather than personal data, and we may keep it longer.

Your rights

You can ask us to give you a copy of what we hold about you; correct anything wrong; delete it; restrict what we do with it; or provide it in a portable form.

You can object at any time, and for direct marketing that right is absolute. If you tell us to stop, we stop — no balancing, no exceptions, no need to give a reason. Email contact@smartsolid.solutions and it will be actioned.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or to your local supervisory authority if you are in the EU. In Spain that is the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos, aepd.es.

Automated decision-making

We rank companies by how likely they are to need our services. That ranking is about the company, not about you, and it has no legal or similarly significant effect on you. No decision about you is made by automated means alone.
